What is the difference between Botox and Botox Cosmetic?

Botox and Botox Cosmetic are basically identical products. Both Botox and contain botulinum toxin type A. Some people confuse the botulinum toxin type A with Clostridium botulinum which is known to cause food poisoning. However, Botox and Botox Cosmetic do not contain the actual bacteria or the harmful protein in it. Botox and Botox Cosmetics uses a purified version of the protein which is not harmful when injected. Sometime use interchangeably, Botox is used to reduce frown lines between the eyebrows and forehead.
